Woodlief McCabe is a writer, filmmaker, and comic based in New York City. They graduated in December of 2023 with a BA in Film, Media, and Theater and an Associates in Politics. Their work has been shown at film festivals internationally. They have also written a number of short scripts including several that they have adapted into film. Woodlief has been working with film production since 2016. They have extensive experience as a director, cinematographer, sound recordist, lighting designer, and editor. They have also been performing standup comedy since December of 2021.
Woodlief's work varies in subject matter, but they often find themselves returning to similar themes. The richest veins of creativity come from exploring the queer and trans experience, themes of surveillance and reflexivity of media, and interrogating the notions of body and self. They also especially like to write about werewolves. Though occasionally delving into serious subject matter, Woodlief maintains a comedic edge to their writing and filmmaking style.
